Post Revisions

Is there a way to limit the number of revisions that are kept on file without having to install additional plugins? If not, is there a way to delete old revisions that are no longer needed – again, without having to install additional plugins? Thanks a million!

  • Hi –

We will take care of the post and page revisions from our side. You don’t need to fuss with that. Perhaps I have misunderstood your question? If so, share more details.

    Hi,

Thanks so much for your reply. I understand the platform is set up to automatically save revisions, which is wonderful. (One of the MANY things to love about WordPress.)

I am just wondering if it is possible to limit the number that are saved or to be able to delete some. I have the free plan and, at this time, can’t move up to a paid plan. I am just thinking in terms of space taken up by the revisions. I am thinking the answer is no, but would love to hear back.

PS Now that I think about it, when I had a wordpress.org site, I had to use a plugin to be able to do it. I think it was WP Optimize. But with the free plan I don’t think I have access to that. So, again, just wondering if there is a way to tweak the number of revisions saved or delete older revisions that are no longer needed.

    Thank you!

  • At this time, the only way to limit revisions for your site would be to upgrade to a Business Plan so you can install a plugin to limit revisions.
