Post showing up in multiple categories

    I have a post that I attached to 2 categories, a big category, and a sub-category. On my website though, the post is showing up under ALL the categories on my site. I want to learn how to make it so that a specific post will only show up under the categories I attach it to. please help me solve this issue. thank you.
