Post visibility in Showcase for the Oxygen theme

  I want to make my most recent featured articles appear on the Showcase slide of the Oxygen theme. I am putting together a website for my school newspaper and we want to highlight our newer posts every week without the additional task of indicating one by one which articles should not be featured on the showcase. Is there a way to make this a rolling slide instead of manually adding and removing articles every week?

  Nevermind, I discovered that I needed to resize the photos to a minimum of 750 pixels, thus qualifying it for promotion on our showcase page.
