Posted Blog Missing from My Archived Posts

  I posted a blog a few weeks ago and I see it on the linked site I uploaded the blog to but when I look at my WordPress archives it is not there. The missing blog shows as a draft on my site. I don’t want to ‘publish’ it again because my followers will see it as a repeat post which I don’t want to do to avoid confusion. Any suggested on how to get it listed in my archived blogs?

  Hi,

  The missing blog shows as a draft on my site. I don’t want to ‘publish’ it again because my followers will see it as a repeat post which I don’t want to do to avoid confusion.

  You might have inadvertently switched the status to draft at some point. You may switch it back to publish status without resulting in a notification sent to followers. When the status is changed to published, it will then be published without being republished.

  You’re welcome. However, note that the second option of the Republishing a Posts section of the Schedule a Post support page says:

  You can republish your post by changing the status of the post to Draft, clicking Update, then clicking Publish. When you do this, the post will immediately redistribute to your email subscribers. However, the publication date and time will remain the same, so the post’s link and position in your timeline will remain unchanged.

  I’ve never found that changing a post to draft, updating, and then clicking publish, results in a new notification to email followers. I’m a follower of my primary site and I’ve gone through these steps many times without producing a new notification for a previously published post. However, I continue to use the older WP Admin post and page editors, which might make a difference regarding the notifications.

  You may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar to call for staff attention if you’d like a more definitive response to your support request.
