Posting

masonandpatriciainthenow.com: this is a question about how to post articles written by others. When you open our blog you see these headings:Home, New Authors, Brad Harper, Harry Moseley, About. They are “pages”. Brad and Harry submit articles to me by email which I would like to publish so that when someone clicks on their name, their latest post shows. Currently, all posts end up on the “home” page. I would like the “home page to have Mason (myself) or Patricia’s posts show and readers can click on the other two authors as they choose. Your help please.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi Mason,

With your site set up as it is now, with the blog posts on the home page, there isn’t a way to exclude certain posts (like those posts by Brad and Harry) from appearing on the home page. When your home page is set up to show your blog posts, it will always show all of the posts on your blog by all authors.

One way you can set up your site differently, and divide out those posts by Brad and Harry, is to set up Category Pages. With that approach, you can use one category for posts by you and Patricia, a second category for posts by Brad, and a third category for posts by Harry. Each of those categories will then have its own page.

You could then Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page) on your site, and visitors can click through the links in your menu to view the three different category pages with posts on them.

Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)
