Posting from WordPress to Facebook

    I am having trouble with the appearance of my wordpress site post on Facebook. When I share the post, for some reason it posts an excerpt of the article title, the author, and the first sentence of the article, when all I want it to state on the post is the article’s title. How can I remove this? It appears that I have to make a change on the wordpress site, as Facebook does not allow me to customize my post preview copy

    Hi there,

    We don’t have control over what Facebook shows as the preview. We only send the post URL and either the title, or if you have a custom Publicize message sent, that custom message. The preview itself is generated on Facebook’s end, and is generated based on the meta data for your post in the HTML headers which cannot be edited.

    The only way to control how the preview appears on Facebook’s end would instead be to share your links there manually, which would allow you to delete the preview if it doesn’t look the way you want it to.
