posting MSWord doc to wordpress blog
-
The ‘help’ text implies it is possible to post an MSWord doc to my wordpress blog but provides no hint as to how to do it, and the wordpress user interface, like most GUIs, is opaque to newcomers.

It’s not a good idea to use MS Word to post articles on a website as MS Word produces verry messy html-code and is not always W3C-compatible, https://wordpress.com/support/microsoft-word/

Agreed. MS Word produces hideous HTML, which is a) bloated and b) doesn’t work well with any known HTML rendering engine. So now I’m pursuing the possibility of using an Adobe PDF file rather than a .docx file. I found a webpage (https://www.wpmadesimple.org/supplementary-guides/adding-pdf-documents/) that seems to offer instructions on incorporating a PDF file into a blog post.

That site is for wordpress.org. Just follow the official wordpress.com documentation at https://wordpress.com/support/embedding-a-pdf-file/
