  copying and pasting from a PDF file

  I want to copy and paste our by-laws onto a page of it’s own. They show as pasted but don’t publish.

  Hi there,

  If you can copy the text from your PDF file, you can use the “Paste as Text” button in the page editor to paste that text into a page. We have more information about the “Paste as Text” button here: Visual Editor – Pasting Text

  If you’d like, you can also embed a PDF file into a page by using Scribd. We have information about how to do that here: Scribd

  If you have any trouble with that, please send me a link to the page where you’re trying to do this (or let me know the title of the page if it isn’t published yet). I’d be happy to take a closer look for you.

  I successfully up loaded my By-Laws to scribed. Copied the code and clicked embed. I’m not exactly sure where to paste the code, but nowhere worked. This is the page

  Hi there,

  To get the embed code you need from Scribd, you can click on the Share on social networks icon in the top right on your Scribd page.

  Then, in the Embed window that pops up, look for the Format section and select “Customize for: WordPress.”

  You can copy the shortcode there and paste it into your post editor. Here’s the shortcode I got for your document:

  [scribd id=207340298 key=key-1e4udeqqdl2tnwhkp21p mode=scroll]

  I was able to get the code but I don’t know where to paste it. You say “post editor”. I don’t know where that is on my page

  OK I got it done. What you didn’t tell me was to click on update after pasting the code on the page. I was expecting to see text and when that didn’t happen I didn’t know what to do next. You were kinda’ helpful, but if you had gone through to the end, it would have saved me a day or two.
