Posting to multiple pages

Does anyone know if there’s a way to make a post not only post to my home page feed, but also to another designated page? For example, if I write a post about spinach, I would like the post to publish to my home page, but also publish into my “food” page.

At wordpress you use categories to organize posts. Page, such as one called “food” would be a static page that sits outside the blog structure.

Can you make one category your main page? Instead of your main page being a random assortment of things?

No, categories pages cannot be made as the main landing page for your site.
You can create a static front page for your site and then include the categories you create in the top navigation if you wish by using a custom menu.

I must be an idiot because for the life of me I still can’t sigure out how to link my catergories to the new menu/pages …

You don’t link categories to pages you have created. Pages are pages. When you create the custom menu, you go to the categories module, select what categories you want to add to the top navigation and then click the “add to menu” button. Arrange them as you wish by drag and drop along with whatever pages you actually want up there (about, etc.), save the menu and then in the theme location module at upper left, you select your custom menu from the “primary location” pulldown and then click save.

In the morning read through the custom menu link I provided. Then organize your posts by assigning the categories to them and then work through adding those categories to your top navigation.
