posts not showing up in categories

  Hello better educated WordPress users.

  I am having a problem that I can’t figure out. I’ve search, changed a bunch of settings, scrapped things, rebuilt them, etc..

  When I assign a category to a post, then click on that category after posting, the category says “no posts yet!”. I’ve been messing around with it, but no luck.

  Here is a link:

  When you click on “Old Catalogs and Ephemera”, you get this:

  What am I missing? Is it Viteeo? One thing I did notice was that even though I gave the categories a parent, if I clicked on “edit” and went to “edit category”, the drop down for “parent” doesn’t show the parent (News!). If I then click “update” without making any changes, it takes me back to the “categories” page, and when I look at the list of categories, “Old Catalogs and Ephemera” went from being nested under “News!” to not being nested.

  Any ideas?

  We cannot help you here with that site. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and you are posting to the wrong support forum.

  WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

  No problem! Thanks for clearing it up. I knew there was a difference, but have only been working on my own website for 10 days. I wondered why I had problems logging in. Oops.

  BTW, this did start as a legit problem with feeding multiple RSS and get to get them to appear on different links in a custom menu. I wanted my own blog on one, new music news on another category, and probably two more on schematics and old advertising/catalogs. I was able to create the custom menu following some advice here, but the content isn’t showing up on their respective categories. That’s what was going on. I’ll see if the .org people know what’s going on. I’ll probably just dump Viteeo and see if I have the same problem with another theme (and see if I can get it to work before downloading all those plug-ins).
