‘posts page’ and ‘homepage’ set in reading settings stop my pages working

‘posts page’ and ‘homepage’ set in reading settings in wordpress once set, won’t load up. Instead of showing the page I have created in thrive, it gets stuck on a continuous loading screen and in the background it shows the old template with the old website design. I have thrive architect which works fine until I set up the reading settings
