posts vs comments

Why are my posts needing approval as they appear as comments?????
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Can you give show me the URL for somewhere that you are seeing this happen? It would help me to have an example to look at.

So, those are called pingbacks.
The happen when one of your posts is linked to from a WordPress.com blog. It can be someone else’s WordPress.com blog or it can be your own. You linked to two of your old posts when you posted this thread:
So the system generated those two pingbacks. You can approve or delete them based on your own preference. Some people find self-pingbacks to be useful and approve them. I myself tend to delete them.

So I can delete them ( as trash) without deleting the posts???
AND then I can un do the pingbacks?
** and where do I find those pingbacks? Been a while

Absolutely. Deleting those pingbacks will not delete the posts.
AND then I can un do the pingbacks?
If you want to turn off pingbacks, this page will show you how to do it for an individual post and also talks about how to avoid self-pings:
If you want to disable ALL pingbacks, you can do that from the Settings–> discussion page. Instructions here:

** and where do I find those pingbacks? Been a while
since on WP **Log into your WordPress.com site’s dashboard and go to “Comments”. Then click on the dropdown box that says “show all comment types” and change that to “pings”.
