Pre-sales question. Test enviroment or Sandbox mode
-
Hi! Currently we own a site on a Google Cloud virtual machine and we would like to migrate all the site to the wordpress.com Business plan.
In our server, we have created two versions of the same site, the one that user access (production site) and a test version where we test all our changes before deploying to production; changes like wordpress updates, plugin updates, custom css, js…
Have the Business plan something similar to a test enviroment or a sandbox mode, where we can make and test all our developments before deploying to production? What will be the best approach using wordpress.com tools? I know we can have an external to wordpress.com server and place there our test enviroment, but we would like that the test enviroment and the production enviroment to be as similar as possible, even at the server level.
Thank you very much.
I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

Hi there!
We don’t have staging environments on WordPress.com. While the Business plan and higher gives you access to third-party themes and plugins, they also give you SFTP and database access, so you will have more control over the server-side of things, but we don’t have an exact staging environment that you could use to test things before deploying them to the production site.
We have some suggestions for alternatives to staging sites here that we welcome you to check out: https://wordpress.com/support/alternatives-to-staging-sites/
Let us know if you have more questions.
Regards
