  Hi!
  I would like to monetize my site and move to a premium plan. do i purchase domain from wordpress and what happens to wordpress.com versus wordpress.org on my site?

  Do you happen to have a self-hosted WordPress.org site currently?

  I ask because there are no restrictions on advertising if you setup a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities. Please see this link to learn about the differences:
