Premium Account Asking For Domain Renewal Early?

  Hello, I have just received an email saying that my custom domain is about to expire in 3 months, even though I have a premium upgrade for another 10 months which I was told included a custom domain for a year?

  I originally was using a normal account with a custom design upgrade and custom URL, but decided to get a premium to remove ads, get email support, add 10gb of storage and have the URL for another 12 months rather than renewing each upgrade individually.

  Your custom design upgrade is the one that will be expiring in 3 months, not the domain or WordPress.com Premium.

  As Custom Design is included in WordPress.com Premium, you can either just ignore those emails or I can cancel that upgrade for you. I am unsure why it didn’t get removed when you upgraded to WordPress.com Premium.

  Hey thanks for getting back to me so fast!

  If you remove it will it revert my URL back to a .wordpress.com or will it just continue on for another 10 months as just a .com?

  Custom Design is actually completely unrelated to your site’s URL. It is the upgrade that allows you to use custom CSS to change the look of your site.

  Ok so basically nothing will change if you cancel that upgrade that’s making it look like I’ll lose my domain in 90 days?

  Correct.

  Again, to be clear, it isn’t your “Custom Domain”, it is the “Custom Design” upgrade. It has nothing to do with your domain and it is included in WordPress.com Premium, which you already have. So there is no reason for it to exist as a separate upgrade.

  Wait I think I’ve made a mistake. The email that I recieved says that my domain will expire in 90 days even though my premium upgrade (which included the domain) doesn’t expire for 10 months.

  I am trying to make sure I will have http://www.dostuffandblog.com for another 10 months and that it won’t revert to a .wordpress.com in 90 days.

  Sorry for the confusion!

  Okay, I have this all sorted out.

  Somehow, an extra year was not added onto your dostuffandblog.com domain after purchasing WordPress.com Premium. It may take a bit to show in the updates, but I have added that extra year on and the expiration date should show 2016 now.

  I have also removed that extra Custom Design upgrade.

  Hope this all wasn’t too confusing, but you should be all set now.
