Premium Renewal

WordPress Premium auto renewed more than a month before it expired(15/8-14). I was not aware that this was normal practice, and I would like to have it cancelled. Auto renewal was turned on by default, but still I imagined that I had more than a month left.

” 2.1.1. Prior to the expiration of any gTLD registration, registrars must notify the registered name holder of the expiration at least two times. One of these notices must be sent approximately one month prior to expiration and one must be sent approximately one week prior to expiration. In the event the registration is transferred to a different registered name holder pursuant to a provision of the registration agreement and in relation to the expiration of the registration (as described in paragraph 1.2) these renewal notices must be transmitted instead to the RAE. Nothing in this policy is intended to preclude registrars from sending additional notices, provided that at least two required notices are sent at the required times.”

After one notice from you I was billed for another year, within 12 hours of the first mail. Not exactly fair chance to cancel this fraud is it?

    Hi there,

We normally charge auto-renewals a month in advance in case their are any issues with the card. I’ve seen instances when users had to order a new card and a month allows sufficient time to get a new card and renew the upgrade before the expiration date.

In addition, we notify you of this when you purchase any upgrade at WordPress.com. We do confirm that there’s an automatic renewal that is processed 30 days before unless you opt out: 1) in section 3 of our Terms of Service, and 2) the Store checkout screen (before you click Purchase).

Nevertheless, I’d be happy to refund this upgrade. Please check your email as I will need account confirmation. After that, you will get a full refund.
