Premium Upgrade question

    Hi,

I am considering purchasing the premium upgrade package for one of my blogs (blog A). I already pay the custom domain mapping fee for this blog to map it to a domain that I own through GoDaddy.

However, the premium upgrade says it includes a free domain purchase or free mapping to a previously purchased domain. There is currently a domain that I would like to buy for use with a wordpress.com blog in the future (Blog B), but I do *not* want to use this new domain for my existing blog (Blog A) – it would be used for a *new* wordpress blog at some point in the future.

Is it possible to purchase the premium upgrade for blog A, purchase a custom domain name as part of that packaged deal, *and then associate that domain name for a different wordpress.com blog I plan to launch in the future (Blog B)?*

Hopefully this makes sense. I suppose the question is whether a domain purchased through this package is linked ONLY with the blog for which I purchased the upgrade, or whether that domain name is owned by my account and is free to use for any other blog I happen to start.

    Thanks!

  • The short answer is, yes.

It may make your renewals a bit confusing, as the dates won’t totally sync up across the board. But we can sort it all out so that things are operating correctly. You will probably need to ask a staff member to move the newly registered domain to your new WordPress.com site once you create it.
