    Hi – when I go to point my domain at the WordPress site it says it’s £11 a year but on the next page the cheapest option is £36 a year?!
    Am I missing something ?

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi there,

    It is not possible to set a custom address on WordPress.com sites unless you upgrade to one of our plans listed here: https://wordpress.com/pricing/

    It sounds like you may be seeing our lower cost “domain connection” option, which does allow you to point your existing domain to the new site you set up here. However the site here at WordPress.com will have a “wordpress.com” site URL still. The connected domain will redirect to it, but the URL of your site is not customized.

    To have a custom site address is a little different, it takes more than a simple domain connection. Instead you must purchase one of our plans (at added cost) which will allow you to change your site URL to be that of the custom address.
