primary email address gone

    The company I worked for back when I set this up changed their name and later I stopped working for them, so I no longer have access to that email.
    I tried to change to my gmail account, but it won’t send me a confirmation email.
    Yes, I tried using the resend button, and yes, I checked my Spam folder – and other folders, it’s really not there. Is there just no way to contact a human for help?

    The only sites I see on your @jayottinger WordPress.com account when I check on our end are listed here:

    I see you are able to log in to your WordPress.com account, so you should be able to access the site you see here: https://wordpress.com/sites

    Is the issue with a different site that you do not see listed there? What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?

    Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

    yes – I was trying t create a wordpress.org account – but it never completed the 2FA…

    Hi there,

    This is WordPress.com though, not WordPress.org.

    What is the URL of the site you are needing help with? You are unable to log in to that site, yes? It is possible to have a self-hosted WordPress site, which are sites that you create on a “traditional web host” like Bluehost, GoDaddy, etc. Those sites use the open-source software from WordPress.org and use a different login than we use.

    So our account recovery process will not work if you are using a a WordPress site with another provider, but we’re happy to get you pointed in the right direction. Thanks for the additional info!
