  i am trying to make my blog private and i the WP instructions does not match the interface of it- it is from 2009.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Are you wanting to make private the WordPress.com site listed above that only contains a “hello world” post (easy to do via “Settings”), or some other site? Note that sites hosted elsewhere using the WordPress.org software don’t have quite the same features as sites hosted here at WordPress.com and a plugin would be required to make a .org site private.
