Problem uploading a theme
-
Compré un tema en themeforest.net para mi blog y lo empecé a customizar desde el localhost, ahora lo estoy tratando de subir por medio de importar y nada más me sube las entradas sin el tema. Me pueden ayudar con esto?

Hi Juan,
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities.
Please check out the following links to learn the differences:
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
http://get.wp.com/WIth a WordPress.org installation, you can use any theme that you choose, but on WordPress.com we only use a specific set of themes that we’ve certified for quality, security, etc. You can customize the CSS for a WordPress.com theme, but not the PHP/HTML files.
Standard post categories can be imported, but any custom categories/taxonomies that a WordPress.org theme creates cannot.
Does that answer your question?

Thank you, But how can I use the theme I just bought, what are my options? I don’t want to lose my money, I also bought a hosting plan on godaddy.com, and now I don’t know what to do.
-
Unfortunately there’s no way to use the ThemeForest theme or GoDaddy hosting package on WordPress.com, so I think your two options would be to:
1) Continue using WordPress.com to host your blog, and choose one our free or premium themes. Then you can see if you can get refunds from ThemeForest and GoDaddy for the unused theme and hosting package.
2) Transfer your WordPress.com content and domain name to a WordPress.org blog, using GoDaddy as your host and using the ThemeForest theme that you bought. Then you can request a refund from WordPress.com for the unused Premium upgrade. We can’t refund the domain name after 48 hours, but we can transfer it to GoDaddy so that you can continue using it.
If you’d like to choose option #1, you’ll need to talk to those companies directly, but if you’d like to choose option #2 then I can provide you with more information on that.

You’re welcome Juan. We’re sad to see you go, but we’ll make the transition as smooth as possible for you.
The guide below explains how to transfer your domain name to GoDaddy, including how to access the authorization (EPP) code:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/transfer-domain-registration/To export your WordPress.com blog, please follow this guide:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/export/If you’d prefer to have us manage the entire process for you, you can purchase the Guided Transfer upgrade.
I noticed you submitted a request to transfer your Premium bundle to another domain, so we can do that instead of refunding it.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

No I’m not to transfer the premium bundle now, but thank you I want the refund :D
I’m doing now the transfer, but I can’t see in the Store → Domains, my domain and I can’t get the code :S
-
Forget it, I just got the code and now i’m doing the transfer to godaddy, the only thing to do now is the refund, thanks for your help!
-
Another think Ian, the system said that the transfer can’t be done and it’s locked until June 27, because the domain is too new, I really need to solve this as soon as possible, thank you
-
That’s correct Juan, we’re unable to transfer new domains until 60 days have passed. That’s a rule put in place by ICANN (the global organization that controls domain name registration).
In the mean time, you can still use GoDaddy as the host, by changing the name servers for the domain name to point to GoDaddy. You can find instructions for doing that at http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/
That should let you have everything hosted at GoDaddy, and then in June you can transfer the domain so that everything is hosted with them.

Ahh ok Ian, I just did that process, and I’ll wait. What’s the process for the refund now?
-
Hi Juan, I’ve removed the Premium bundle (but left the domain itself), and then refunded $81 (the price of the bundle minus the price of the domain).
You should see the refund reflected on your next credit card statement. It can sometimes take up to a week to fully process, but often finishes sooner.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
