Problem with 1&1 domain
-
Hello.
I need to create a website for a bar.
This was initially quite simple. I searched “bar” in my interests, selected the first option, and was 80% done. But then I was asked to have it on 1&1.
I tried to “connect” the domain – but I can’t do it. There isn’t an option to connect my domain.
Then I tried creating a wordpress through 1&1! And there is nothing useful!
Creating the wordpress through 1&1 does not ask me what my interests are, so I needed to rely on the available themes to. And every theme I try a theme it goes back to the standard format, which makes every theme look like a blog.Could someone update me on how to connect a domain?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy –
No worries. We can help you get things sorted out. So, there’s actually 2 versions of WordPress. What we do here at WordPress.com is a managed hosting environment. Using WordPress through 1and1 would be the other version which is the open source WordPress.org software. Two different things.
What domain are you trying to point to 1and1 hosting?

Thank you for answering me.
There is a wordpress.com that was created by itself, and a wordpress.org that was created hosted in 1&1.
The wordpress.com fits much much better my needs in terms of design and of ease to edit. Thus, if possible, I would like to have the wordpress.com hosted in 1&1, please.
-
That’s not possible. WordPress.com sites are hosted by WordPress.com on our service. What’s the site URL?
-
I forgot to mention… If you move the WordPress.com site to 1and1 you are going to also lose the WordPress.com design and interface that you like.
-
Well… Thank you for answering me, nonetheless.
That said, loosing the design I loose the purpose of trying to pass my wordpress.com to the 1&1 instead of painstakingly modifying the wordpress.org.
Thank you for trying to help me.
