Problem with an embedded link
-
Hi Everyone,
Sorry, I’m new here and just learning the ropes, so sorry if there is an easy solution to this. I did a search for “links” but didn’t see my problem, and when I follow the steps on Support it only shows me what I already did.
I just wrote a blog entry and used a few embedded links in it. I clicked on the “insert link” button under Visual, pasted the web address and added the words I wanted to show up in the blog. On my blog the words show up as a hyperlink, but when I click on in it brings me to the “Types of Blogs – WordPress” page. When I switch to HTML the correct weblink is showing there. I tried logging out and visiting the site, but I still get brought to the same Types of Blogs page.
I have a basic free account – do I need to upgrade in order to embed links?!? Still very new to this so I appreciate any help you can offer – I feel like there is probably something very obvious I am missing. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No need for an upgrade – just read the link

Ah, that makes sense. A little frustrating because the link really shouldn’t violate their TOS, but I think that must be it. Thank you so much for your help!
Do you happen to know if this still the case for the $17/year domain? I would imagine it would be, but just wanted to check.
Thanks again!

NO upgrade exempts you from the TOS – if you have a very high traffic site (over 25k hits a month I think) there is some sort of revenue sharing that can sometimes be done. Clickbank and other pay-per-click tends to get sites suspended.

Thanks! I seriously doubt my site will ever get close to 25k hits per month – 25 per month is more like it! The website I was mentioning wasn’t any type of pay-per-click or revenue-earning site, but I’m guessing it was flagged anyway. I emailed support about to see if there was any way around it, but my guess is no.
I appreciate your help – I’m still learning the ropes and hate being a newbie on sites! Hopefully I’ll pick it up quickly. Thanks!
