Problem with building up menu structure

    Hi,

I have planned to build up a menu structure for my blog, I am using Twenty Eleven Theme.

The main aim is to have the regular “about”, “references” etc and the “blog” menu as the last one. Some menus would use sub-menu as well.

My first problem is that I cannot find the “parent” options at the Page Attributes panel. And I don’t know the reason.

The other thing I cannot really understand is that I cannot see the page that contains my blog posts in any panels to put the menu items in order.
I think it is just okay, and then configuring the menu itself. But when I set a static page as an opening cover, my posts has just disappeared.
And additionally I don’t know how to rename the “Home” menu into “Blog”.

I have searched the manuals and forum topics, but without any success.
Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

    Attila

Hi Attila, I’d be happy to help answer your questions.

My first problem is that I cannot find the “parent” options at the Page Attributes panel. And I don’t know the reason.

You can select a parent page in the Page Attributes module in the page editor. If you don’t see this module, you may have to enable it in the Screen Options at the top of the page editor screen.

The other thing I cannot really understand is that I cannot see the page that contains my blog posts in any panels to put the menu items in order.

By default, the front page of your site contains your blog posts. If you set up a static front page, you can also set up a different page for your blog posts and place that in a custom menu.

You can set up a full custom menu for your site under Appearance > Menus in your dashboard. We have a guide for setting it up here: Custom Menus

But when I set a static page as an opening cover, my posts has just disappeared.

If you use a static front page, you will also need to create a page for your blog posts. You can then set that as your posts page in your settings. We have complete instructions for setting that up here: Front Page

Please let me know if you have any questions about this!
