Problem With Plugins/DNS
-
Hello,
I am helping my friend update her page and am trying to install plugins.
I decided last year to buy my own domain and then install wordpress on it but she (the account I am questioning from) purchased the domain through this site with WP already installed on it.
I realize that wordpress.com doesn’t allow plugins on their servers (thus the advantage of of purchasing the domain name) but now it seems like that because she purchased through this site she cant install them.
I have emailed asking for the DNS login info so that I could do it manually as I did for my site but got told that we were not allowed access to it.
Is there anyway I can try to recover this situation other than making her buy another domain (or transferring hers over which I am not to confident at), and if its not to complicated can someone explain why wordpress.com limits what I can access or install on http://www.suzannepriestley.com (my guess is that the site is actually a proxy of some sort and all info is still stored on wordpress.com).
Thank you for any help you can give.

You can’t install Plug-in’s on suzannepriestley.com. since it is hosted on WordPress.COM – Plug-in’s are not allowed here for security and reliability reasons –
What Plug-in’s do you need – we have a pile of extra Widgets and lots of short Code here so you can do much more here than you can with a stock WordPress.ORG install – usually there is a way to do most things you want – should not be a problem to do an online portfolio for your friend
