Problem with publish date on posts

  The publish date of all my posts come as the 12th of the month, rather than the actual date. It seem as though the year is displaying as the day.
  How can I fix this please?

  I thought it might be a problem with the theme (Twenty Eleven) but it also happened when I changed themes.
