Problem with sequence of posts

  • Unknown's avatar

My posts appear chronologically going back in time but after January 2010 they jump to april 2009 and climb up from there. I thought the problem might be that I’m used to check ‘sticky’ to each new post. It is said in the forum that I should not do that, that the most recent post will appear first automatically. But when I don’t check ‘Sticky’ it doesn’t and the new post is nowhere in sight.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please paste the URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your username to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know before Posting). Helps us help you.

Your problem is most definitely because of the stickies. The sticky option is meant for ONE post that will remain permanently on top of more recent ones. When you mark several posts as stickies the blog gets messed up: they override the number of posts per page, they show up in more than one pages etc. Go to Posts>Edit, select all your posts, sekect Edit from the Bulk Actions dropdown, click Apply, select Not Sticky from the Sticky dropdown, click Update Posts.

    My URL is http://salonvansisyphus.wordpress.com

I work in the Dutch version of WordPress. There does not seem to be a way to edit all posts at the same (no ‘Bulk action dropdown). Unsticky each message will take forever

Switching my interface language to Nederlands, this is what I get:

Berichten > Bewerken: tick box to the right of “Bericht” to select all the posts on the page; Acties dropdown: select Bewerken, click Uitvoeren; Sticky dropdown: select Niet Sticky, click Bericht bijwerken.

Note that, before doing that, you can click Schermopties and increase the number of posts per page.

    Ok, that worked. Thanks!
