problem with transfering media from blog in wordpress.com to worpdress.org

  Hi,

  I am in the process of moving my blog from wordpress.com to worpress.org together with changing blog template and moving domain. Everything was transfered already, new template installed, except of media from wordpress.com (1,5GB of pictures since I write my blog for 3 years and there was quite a lot of pictures downloaded). I was not able to transfer media/pictures to wordpress.org and I need to have them. Could you please help me to move my pictures to the new blog on wordpress.org? Or could you tell me how effectively I can do this? Somehow it was not effective till now.

  Hi there,

  If you export all the content from your blog, that WordPress export file includes references to all the pictures used on your blog here. When you import it into a new WordPress blog, the importer there will look for all of those pictures and pull them into your new blog’s media library.

  If you run into trouble with that process on a WordPress.org blog, the best place to get help with that importer is your new website host or the WordPress.org forums. (The support staff here at WordPress.com don’t have the tools or access to help with imports to a WordPress.org site unless it’s part of a Guided Transfer.)
