problems loading/displaying images

I have been adding images to my blog using ‘Add Media’ for 23 weeks, but today, for the first time, new images could not be added to the media.
I deleted all my existing images to try and make space for the new ones, but this didn’t have any effect.
I restarted the computer and server several times, but the problem remained.
Later I noticed that deleting images from Media meant they had all disappeared from 23 weeks of Blogs (!!)
I just tried reloading all the images to Media in chronological order, but when it came to the final images 9which were the troublesome ones I tried to load today) they still would not load.
There are still images missing now from older Blog posts, even though their images have been reloaded to Media now.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What kind of images (file format) are these troublesome ones? Are they excessively large?

You deleted the entire media library. That means that the library of images from which images displayed on your site were derived, whether in posts, pages, sidebar, header, etc. was emptied. All of the images on the site dependent upon the media library should have been missing after the library was emptied. Filling up the library again with duplicates of the images will not restore the missing images. They must be replaced.

Thank you. as far as I can see the new images that started the trouble were not different from others I have used, but I will try to scrutinise them more carefully.
Yes, I realised my mistake, that I had wiped out the connection between images and the Blog posts. I reinstalled all the pictures in the Media but have not replaced them as they were in the posts as yet.
Strangely, about half the Blog now looks intact (the most recent half (the past 10 weeks or so) while earlier posts have no images. Thanks again -

Each image has an ID number. The new ones will have different ID numbers than the old, deleted ones.

I’m uncertain what the explanation is for this. Were the images on the new posts restored after you uploaded the images again, or did they remain intact after the deletion of the library?

Thanks for this. I will refer to it as I work through the problem. I think I am just going to have to work through the whole blog, replacing all the missing pictures, then scrutinising the ‘problem pictures’ when I get to them.

I just went through the Blog replacing all the images as they were.
When I came to this week’s blog I just decided to leave it as it is for now. Instead of adding media (that I usually turn to B&W) I used the URL function and linked to colour pictures for this Post.
I update my Blog on Friday’s, so I think I am just going to wait and see what happens next week, perhaps using this URL function for images instead of the Media library in future. Unless of course, the problem has gone away and then I may want to return to the B&W image of the Blog and treat this week’s as a special exception. I may correspond here again next week if you don’t mind.
