Problems with appearance of blog

  Dear WordPress engineers

  I have had a couple of problems with the appearance of my blog, Mrs Peabody Investigates, for a while now. I’ve tried some of your suggestions (e.g. clearing cookies), but I don’t think the problem is related to my computer or set up, as other blogs on WordPress I view don’t seem to have the same issues.

  Problem 1: When I go to the home page of my blog, the font ‘jumps’ into a different font and only returns to normal when I move my mouse across the text. I’d like for the font appearance to remain stable if possible.

  Problem 2: What looks like a footer is popping up at the bottom of the screen – a rectangle with the title of the blog in it. This lies over the text of the blog and interferes with the reading of it. I’d like to have this removed if possible.

  Both of these are quite recent problems – I’ve been using same theme all the way through and haven’t had any problems until now.

  Hope you can help! Any suggestions appreciated.

  Brief update: my theme is Twenty Ten, and when I went to another blog using the same theme, the same problems were evident.

  Now not sure if it is a problem specific to the theme…? Or could it be that my computer is unable to view this theme properly?

  I’ve managed to sort out the font problem by using Microsoft’s ‘compatibility view’ function (I did try Chrome, but ended up with a third font that wasn’t very nice!).

  As for the footer – I can see now that this is connected to the new infinity scroll feature. I’ve actually reverted to the more basic ‘load more posts’ button for now, because the footer is very disruptive to the reader, given that it overlaps with the main blog text. Is this something you could look into? Normally footers appear beneath text in a space of their own, precisely so that you don’t get that kind of visual disturbance…

  If this little problem is resolved, I’ll revert to the infinity scroll.
