Problems with hams

  Hi,

  I know this has been asked a thousand times, but I can’t understand my ham stats: my akismet stats count 24 hams, but my blog currently has o comments. Isn’t a ham supposed to be a legitimate comment?

  Can you show me a screenshot of where you are seeing that “ham” statement?

  Have you deleted any comments? Test comments? Anonymous comments? Posts that included comments?

  The akismet “ham” counter doesn’t go down if a comment has been left and you deleted it (or deleted the post that contained the comment). So that can be a reason for seeing ham numbers but not seeing any comments.

  I made one test comment, but I already had 22 unexplained hams before that (which where the reason I made this test comment).

  So, the short answer is that there appears to be something messed up with the “ham” counting. You are not missing any “real” comments.

  The longer answer will have to wait a bit as the developer I need to work with to suss this out is away at a team meetup.
