Problems with wordpress.com and .com

  • Unknown's avatar

I have one account with the following information:

    username: brutelino AND idiomasadistancia
    domain: http://thehouseofteachers.wordpress.com/

AND I purchased your upgrade and chose to have http://www.thehouseofteachers.com, for which the username is bru2020.

As I set the same password for both, I can access the 2 domains, but it´s too confusing, as I don´t want the wordpress.com anymore!! And the thing is that, for some reason, I have been working on this one (templates, etc), instead of my .com domain – I just want to have the domain and the blog I have purchased, not the other one.

As it´s in the beginning, I wouldn´t mind losing everything I´ve done so far in the wordpress.com blog – I just need to be sure that http://www.thehouseofteachers.com works properly after that.

    Thanks and Regards,

    Bruna

  • Hi there, It looks like your domain http://thehouseofteachers.com is correctly displaying your WordPress.com site.

Just to clarify, there is only one version/copy of your site, to which you’ve simply mapped your custom domain thehouseofteachers.com.

If there is anything specific I can do for you, please let me know and I’ll be glad to help.

First of all, thanks for your help!

Actually, I think there are 2 versions:

    1 – username brutelino – if you type http://www.thehouseofteachers.wordpress.com you´ll see a massy blog
    2 – username bru2020 – if you type http://www.thehouseofteachers.com you´ll see the right one.

And, when I tried to login to reply to this msg, I received an error msg.

I have all the screenshots – please, help me to solve this problem…. Is there any e-mail I can send you the btmp files?

  • Thanks for the clarifications. Here is what I see:

    thehouseofteachers.wordpress.com
    – connected to the user brutelino
    – has no custom domain mapped

    thehouseofteachersdotcom.wordpress.com
    – connected to the user bru2020
    – has the custom domain thehouseofteachers.com mapped to it

If you no longer want to keep the site thehouseofteachers.wordpress.com you can log in as the user brutelino, go to Tools > Delete Blog, and follow the steps to delete the site. Please keep in mind that once a site has been deleted, it’s permanent, and you won’t be able to get it back.

Just let me know if you need further help.
