Protected Blog marked public, but responding as private

    My student is making a site she’s titled bienvenidosamigos.wordpress.com. In her profile, it’s marked private. However, when she shares the link, it requires login and is marked private. What can we do to help her? Thanks!

    Hi there,

    I just checked the site and it is marked public on my end – I am able to visit and view the site. And there are no posts on the site yet, so its not that an individual post is labeled as private.

    What link is being shared?

    Something must have inserted mine in lieu of my student’s.

    That is the site I checked. However, for clarity –

    In your initial post you provided the site bienvenidosamigos.wordpress.com but in your latest post, you provided the site bienvendiosamigos.wordpress.com. The spelling of them aren’t the same, but the second site is private. Are we referring to the latter site?

    If so, it is set as private and is showing as intended. When marked as private, the only users who are invited can view the site – everyone else will receive the protected blog page which says the site is set to private by its owner and you have to have an invite to view the site.
