Protected password page stopped working

Hello all,
I have a password protected page that we created long ago that is not accessible anymore. I’ve tried recreating the page with the same password to no avail. It works once I’m connected as admin, and also once, once I log off bit after that no go. The page is linked to a button on a sidebar so that our members in good standing can access it. It contains different documents that we want available only to our members
