Public visibility not working
-
I’ve set up a free wordpress account and readers can’t view my first post without signing up. Both the post and the website are under the default ‘public’ visibility setting, but the post isn’t working. Please help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You are using a wrong URL. The one you use is only for internal use by the owner of the site.

I see a hidden post https://pricklyreader.wordpress.com/2021/12/31/a-christmas-carol-charles-dickens/
but the link to it on the front page is wrong.
Make your posts page your front page at Customize/Homepage settings and publish some more posts. Then you only need give people your site URL https://pricklyreader.wordpress.com/ for them to see everything. -
Hi there,
Where do I find my public URL that I can share with people?
When you’re editing the post, make sure the sidebar on the right is on the Post tab, then click on Permalink. You’ll find the public URL of your post there.
But if you want a simpler option, you can either create a posts page like @themagicrobot suggested above, which will automatically list all new posts you publish:
https://wordpress.com/support/pages/front-page/#step-3-create-a-blog-page-optional
This will be different from your current blog page (Clyde’s Library), in that it will only list the posts, it won’t show your introductory text at the top.
Or alternatively, instead of manually listing your posts on the front page and your Clyde’s Library page, you can add the Latest Posts block or the Blog Posts block to those pages to automatically list your most recent posts, in addition to any static text you want to include:
