  All published articles (posts) will appear on the posts or blog page, and there is only one blog page on a WordPress.com site. Category pages allow you to display only posts assigned to a specific category in a corresponding category page, a type of archives page. If you were to assign a certain category to every post, then the corresponding category page would display all published posts, effectively making it a virtual copy of the blog page, minus the special formatting of the blog page for the theme applied.
