  How is the first article published, ie, how do people see it?
  Can I find my blog by its name one the internet, ie, by typing in the name, and it will appear?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You blog URL is http://qualiword.wordpress.com/ and anyone typing that into their upper browser widow and clicking will connect to it as the blog is set to “public”.

  By default the front page of the blog is the only page that will display all published posts on it. As soon as you publish a post not a page the error message will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

  I want to call my blog Dave’s Ramblings. How do I link the blog name to the URL?? Can it be done??

  In most themes it is done automatically. You’ve apparently chosen a theme that does not do this. Pick a different theme then.
