Publishing file links
-
I need to make access to downloadable PDF files on a scheduled basis. I have experimented a bit (my first foray into WordPress) and had success with creating a single page for each file (3 separate pages). But I would have to provide 3 separate links to those that need access.
Instead, can I provide an access link to a single page and on that page have 3 separate links – 1 for each file – and the schedule each link to go live at a different time/date?

Hi there,
There is not a direct way to schedule media in WordPress.com, so there is not a way to have PDF embeds appear on a single page on a scheduled basis.
However you could consider as a workaround using the scheduling functionality in the blog to allow for this. That would happen in two steps
1) create a blog post for each of your PDFs, and give each post a category in common like
Course Map PDFsand then schedule each post to appear at the times you wish. There is a guide for scheduling here: https://wordpress.com/support/schedule-a-post-or-page/#scheduling2) on a second page, add the Blog Posts Block, and set that block to only show blog posts from your
Course Map PDFscategory. Call this the “main page” that you want yoru PDFs to appear on, then publish the pageInitially this block will be empty, but as the first post is published as scheduled, it will appear in the block. If someone clicks on the post for more info they will find the PDF you embedded there. A little while latter when your second post is published as scheduled, it will also appear in that block automatically.
In this way the main page will show only the blog posts you have set up, in the order you set scheduled them, one at a time.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
