Publishing to WP w/ Microsoft Word/Blog (2007)
-
I’m trying to use the feature that 2007 Mic. Word offers which is blog posting. According to their info. WordPress supports this, but am having a hard time getting it to link up. I’ve followed the directions when inputting my username, password, and URL.
These are the directions provided:Your blog post URL is the URL of your WordPress xmlrpc.php file, which is usually located in the root folder of your site. For example, if your site is http://www.contoso.com, you type http://www.contoso.com/xmlrpc.php.
Note If you installed the xmlrpc.php file in a subfolder of your site, include the subfolder in the URL. In the previous example, if your copy of xmlrpc.php is stored in a subfolder called /utilities, you type http://www.contoso.com/utilities/xmlrpc.php.
Not knowing what an xmlrpc.php file is or where it may be located in the theme framework – I’m thinking that this is my problem. Being a .com user, I don’t have access to the template coding. Do you have any suggestions? How do I get this feature to work? Is the feature a good one – it seems like it would save me a lot of time.
Thanks. Marzee
PS – I don’t speak css, html, or php.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The site linked to your name is not a WordPress.com blog, and we won’t be able to help with that. If you have a WP.com blog, please link it to your name under Website on the profile page, or leave a link here, starting with http.

I did as you suggested and put in the site – http://www.zeezoo.wordpress.com but still get the response, “we cannot register your account.”
I know that it is inadvisable to copy and paste from a word.doc into wordpress. What about from the 2007 Mic. Word blogging application?
Thanks

Here’s the guide from the FAQ:

And the www. is not actually in your blog URL; the zeezoo. takes its place.

Thank you. I looked at the video – tried to fix things – and while I got further, it still wouldn’t link up properly for publishing. I guess I’ll just keep doing it the old fashioned way (directly into wordpress). Thanks again!

Have you tried Windows Live Writer? It’s free, from Microsoft, is similar to Word and enables you to post from it.
