Purchased domain not active

    I purchased a custom domain “orbhospitality.com” when I upgraded to wordpress premium. The domain shows as active under “my domains” but the domain helper shows that I do not own the domain. When I try to repurchase it, it shows that the domain has been purchased. I have screenshots for everything.

    Hi there,

    It looks like there was a problem when you purchased orbhospitality.com, and it wasn’t registered correctly. Sorry about that!

    I just removed orbhospitality.com from your account and reset your free domain credit, so you can try registering it again for free if you’d like. You can do that under Store > My Domains in your site’s dashboard. We have this guide that explains the process if you’d like: Register a New Domain

    I see you also registered the domain orbhospitalityconsulting.com. If you prefer to just keep that domain, and not register orbhospitality.com, I can refund that domain purchase and link it to your WordPress.com Premium plan instead.

    Sure thing! Just to confirm, you’d like to cancel the domain orbhospitalityconsulting.com for a refund? (That means you’ll give up ownership of that domain name completely. There’s no guarantee you’ll be able to register it again, so only do this if you’re sure you no longer want that domain name.)

    If you can confirm that for me, I’ll take care of canceling that domain and refunding your purchase. I just want to make sure you no longer want that domain before I cancel it.

    You can also do that with the “Cancel and Refund” link (within 48 hours of purchase) next to the domain under Store > My Upgrades in your site’s dashboard, if you prefer.

    Tried to cancel it as you described. got an error “an error occurred while refunding your upgrade. Please contact support. Off to a great start.

    Yikes, sorry about that! I just cancelled that domain (orbhospitalityconsulting.com) for you and issued you a full refund. Please note it can sometimes take 1-2 weeks for refunds to appear on your credit card statement.
