Purchasing a plan

I am very excited to make a site with you. I have a very important question first, If I purchase a £20 a month plan, the small business one, may I upgrade to an em-commerce plan in a few months, then pay £36 a month for the rest of the year? I’m very sorry to have bothered you I couldn’t find the information on the forums I looked at, thank you for your time

Hi Caitlin,
You can upgrade from one plan to another at any time, yes. However, payments aren’t monthly, but plans are billed for a full year at the time of purchase.
When you upgrade from Business to eCommerce you’ll receive an automatic discount based on the time left on your Business Plan, so you won’t pay the full price of eCommerce. But it will also be a new purchase for a full year from the date that you upgrade.
That said, the only real difference between these two plans is that the eCommerce plan comes with WooCommerce, and a selection of premium add-ons for WooCommerce, pre-installed. Otherwise the plan is identical to Business. So if you buy Business, install WooCommerce yourself, and set up your site, you won’t actually be gaining much if you later upgrade to eCommerce.
So I’d rather recommend you look at exactly what the ecommerce plan offers, and if you think you’ll need those features buy that plan from the start. Otherwise the Business Plan will likely be sufficient for you.
