Putting a link in my post
-
I must be pretty stupid, because I can’t figure this out, and I can’t find anything about it in the FAQ, nor can I find where somebody else has asked this in the forum. So it must be pretty obvious. Can somebody clue me in?
I want to put a link in my post. Essentially, I want to write a post that says “This is the coolest widget ever. Check it out at http://www.coolestwidgetever.com/cool/widget” and then my 3 or 4 faithful readers could just click on the link and go see the cool widget.
It can’t be that hard, but I can’t seem to figure it out.
I can simply type the link in in the visual editor – but that just creates some text in my post that can’t be clicked on.
I can go to the html editor, click the “link” button, paste my link into the dialog box that pops up… But that results in nothing being in my post.
Please help a real dummy out.

Thanks for trying a search first. So many people don’t even bother.

You can also use the “link” button in the visual editor. Highlight the text in your post or page that you wish to use as the link and then click the “link” button (looks like three chain links together). Then put the URL you wish to link to in the window that opens and click “insert” and the text is now clickable.
