Putting a www at the start of your url

  I just registered the domain http://mudonthetracks.com and was curious to know if its possible to put a www at the start of it and if people think thats an important thing to do.

  Also, please note that WordPress.com automatically removes the “www” from all URLs. http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/register-domain/#before-upgrading-important-notes

  The antiquainted www for world wide web is three useless characters in the URL and we all strive to have as short a URL as possible so it’s easily remembered by visitors.
