putting widgets in sidebar

  I am in learn.wordpress.com/get configured. I am trying to put widgets on my blog. When I go to appearance>>Widgets, there is no “Main sidebar” shown on the right to drag the widget into. The screen that I see looks different from the one that you are showing in “get configured”. I tried a different theme thinking that was the problem, but no. Help!! Kris Weisbrod

  The Twenty Eleven themes is not designed to provide a sidebar on Posts when the Post Title or Comment bubble title is clicked and they display on their own Pages.
  Appearance > Widgets I clearly see:
  Main Sidebar

  I find this guide to be the best one to use for the Twenty Eleven theme.
