question about domain for website

    What happens when I type my domain after I click ‘next’? It’s before I create a website, the second step. Like if I write my domain and then I click next, will my other website get hided. because I wrote the domain link and clicked ‘next’?

    Hi there,

    Nothing you do here on WordPress.com can cause anything to happen to an existing site on a domain you already own.

    Even if you add a domain mapping upgrade on our end, or even transfer the domain registration to us completely, the domain will continue showing your own site until you either change the domain’s name servers to point it to us, or you deliberately take the site offline at your current host.

    That said, there’s no need to already add your domain when you create your site. You can create it using just the free address we provide for you for now, and only connect the domain later on when you’re ready to make the switch.
