question about transferring my wordpress website too another

    Hello,
    I called Go Daddy and was looking to find out how to transfer my domain and content to a business my word press site. I want to make sure that both the domain and the content transfers over without losing any content

    Hi there,

    Do you mean you want to transfer your site at http://chrisw10.sg-host.com/ to us on WordPress.com?

    First, create a new free site in your account, or if you have one you can use already you can skip this step. To use your own domain you’ll also need to upgrade the WordPress.com site to one of our paid plans.

    You’ll need to get an export file of your current site with GoDaddy. Assuming you’re using the WordPress software with them, you can get this at Tools ->Export in WP-Admin. Or if your site is made with GoDaddy’s site builder system, please ask them if they can provide you with a WordPress export file.

    That file you can then import to your WordPress.com site at My Site ->Import.

    Once all your content has been transferred, it will be safe to switch your domain over to us.
