Question re hosting and plugins
-
Hi,
I currently have a website / domain hosted by ‘Fasthosts’.
The domain is for my ‘money’ website and has a very good position in Google Search for my keywords, so I’d like to use this for the newly designed website.
I’m hoping to use WordPress in the future for this website and I’ve used the Fasthosts ‘one-click facility to install WordPress on my server directory and I now have a basic WordPress page on view in Chrome when I type in the web address for my domain at http://www.tomjonestribute.org
I am now trying to install the ‘Elementor’ plugin to assist with design of the new website.
Unfortunately it seems that I now have to upgrade my WordPress to ‘Business Plan’ in order to install plugins like Elementor?
Can anyone assist with confirming this or is there a way to install Elementor and other plugins in WordPress without upgrading to Business Plan at £20 per month!?
Thanks for your time and help with this,
Ian. -
Hi there,
You’re being asked to upgrade to the Business plan because you’re trying to install that plugin on your free site (tomjonestribute.wordpress.com) that’s been hosted by WordPress.com and not by Fasthosts.
To be able to install plugins on your site tomjonestribute.org you need to log in to it. For more help please contact your hosting provider or post in the WordPress.org support forums:

If you want to know the differences between WordPress.com and the WordPress software that your site is using please read this document:
