Radio Broadcasting: service provider compatibility

  How do I know if a certain integration partner (service provider) such as mixcloud – shoutcast (related to radio broadcasting) is compatible with wordpress?

  Is there a rule of thumb to consider? ie , any plug-in is compatible with wordpress as long as you have the correct subscription plan for example?
