We want to move our site rcal.org to wordpress. Right now it is hosted on a server with the domain hosted on another server using wordpress.org technology and we want to put everything on wordpress.com. Is there a way to just move it over without recreating everything? We will be redesigning but we don’t want it to be down for any time. Alternatively we could leave it up where it is and then move it all into wordpress as we redesign and bring over the domain when we’re ready. Advice please?

Hi there, your WordPress content can be moved over here reasonably easily. The domain nameservers can be pointed at WordPress.com and to the new site here.

The theme and any plugins and customizations that were done would not come over with the content.
We have three upgrade plans that you can read about, WordPress.com Personal, Premium and Business. To be able to map your domain name here, you would need to upgrade to one of those plans.
The Business Plan allows the use themes from outside of WordPress.com and also the use of plugins. Your site looks quit clean and simple, so it may be that you can get by with the Personal plan. Read through the plans and see which would be right for you.
