Re activating my domain

I have recently cancelled my domain and would like to see if there is a way I could reactive it.

  • As mentioned during the domain cancellation, we cannot guarantee when or even if you’ll be able to re-register the domain. That is because the majority of the cancellation process is outside of our control, and this is true for all domain registrars.

The good news is that your domain is still under the grace period and can still be be recovered by us within the next 3 days. After that, we won’t have any control.

If you would like to do this, I have sent a payment request for the $18 domain registration fee to the email address on your account, since you have already received a full refund.

Once paid, please reply here to let us know, and we’ll recover the domain. Again, this will only be possible for the next 3 days. After that, we cannot guarantee when or even if you’ll be able to re-register the domain.

Once the domain is recovered here, you’ll be able to direct it anywhere simply by changing its name servers: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/change-name-servers/

And, after 60 days (another policy outside of domain registrar control), you’ll be able to transfer it elsewhere: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/

  • Payment received, and theangelicemilyrose.com has been recovered!

Good news also, we found out a payment for this was initially made last year and not refunded, meaning the payment you just made was not necessary, so I have refunded that.

I never got my refund. I had to recently update my card information so I’m not sure if it was refunded to the wrong card. Also, since I renewed my acct. would I still owe for my domain to have “WordPress” eliminated from the web address?

Thank you for all your help, it is much appreciated!

  • The last payment for your domain was in August 2019, so you’re not eligible for any refund for the cancellation of the domain in May.

That said, it should not have been necessary for you to pay to have the domain restored, as it had not yet expired. So there are two things I can do for you here: I can refund the payment you made now, or I can use that payment to renew your domain until August 2021. Which would you prefer?

Also, since I renewed my acct. would I still owe for my domain to have “WordPress” eliminated from the web address?

It is required to have a paid plan in order to have a custom domain set as the primary domain on your site. You’ve owned your domain since before we introduced that requirement, which is why you were allowed to keep your custom domain as the primary domain on your site without owning a plan.

But in cancelling your domain you also lost this legacy option, so you would now need to upgrade to a paid plan if you want to set the domain as primary again.
